The Opportunity Guide

A year ago I was speaking at a college and a young man walked up to me and said, “How can I find these opportunities you’re talking about?”. It was then I realized not everyone understands the true mindset of an opportunity creator. An opportunity creator is a person who seeks, create and provides opportunities. I decided to write a book and provide readers with the principles I’ve learned from being an opportunity creator. As a first generation college student who graduated from college debt free, bought my first home at age 28 and have been written grants to fund programs with over a million dollars, I have mastered the true art of understanding the word opportunity. I want YOU to have the same.

The Opportunity Guide is a book designed to inspire its readers to truly understand the meaning behind the word opportunity. This book is constructed into three levels:

Level One: HOW TO PREPARE FOR AN OPPORTUNITY

The goal of level one is to:

• Identify your mission and purpose in life

• Develop life principles and establish moral values and character

• Understand different learning methods

• Build up faith in one’s self

• Develop work habits

• Establish meaningful relationships

• Understand the meaning of failure

Level Two: HOW TO KEEP AN OPPORTUNITY

The goal of level two is to:

• Create consistency

• Create a clearer understanding of your life

• Create great energy around you

• Create an impeccable reputation

• Establish time management skills

• Become a “walking resume”

• Learn how to seize the moment

 Level Three: HOW TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY

The goal of level three is to have the following characteristics:

• “Pay it forward” mentality

• Respectable

• Accepting of others

• Fair

• Humble

• Reciprocal relationships

• Innovative

• Laser-focused

Each level will help you cultivate opportunities while continuing to prepare and ultimately provide opportunities to others. The goal of this book is to develop the true mindset of an opportunity seeker.
